{"id":1217,"date":"2022-03-14T19:53:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T19:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iheritage.ciac.pt\/?p=1217"},"modified":"2022-03-28T18:17:26","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T18:17:26","slug":"iheritage-living-labs-program-to-unravel-the-world-heritage-sites-in-southern-portugal-and-explore-technological-approaches-to-intangible-cultural-heritage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iheritage.ciac.pt\/en\/press-releases\/iheritage-living-labs-program-to-unravel-the-world-heritage-sites-in-southern-portugal-and-explore-technological-approaches-to-intangible-cultural-heritage\/","title":{"rendered":"iHERITAGE Living Labs Program to Unravel the World Heritage Sites in Southern Portugal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>iHERITAGE Living Labs Program to Unravel the World Heritage Sites in Southern Portugal and Explore Technological Approaches to Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/p>\n<p>Represented by the University of Algarve and funded by the EU through the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme, the focus of iHERITAGE project in Portugal is to promote the Mediterranean Diet and its importance for the cultural identity of the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the iHERITAGE project, on February 18th, the first Living Lab was presented at the University of Algarve &#8211; Escola Superior de Gest\u00e3o, Hotelaria e Turismo. This session was part of the technological approach to intangible cultural heritage and the appreciation of social and cultural elements schedule, connected in different ways to history and memory. Taught entirely in Portuguese, the Living Lab motivated a necessary debate in the innovation driven development and technological transfer of the Algarve&#8217;s cultural reality. Professor Mauro Figueiredo was the designated speaker to a group of online subscribers, teaching them the necessary bases for the iHERITAGE app run, whose case study focuses on one of the elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; the Mediterranean Diet.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the research proposes to spread the historical-cultural experience of the Algarve and create the necessary synergies between tourism stakeholders and local institutions. The good development of this type of technology in the world of tourism aims to address the issue of content that testifies to the empiric experience, from the mountains to the sea, in a practical and appealing way. The next Living Lab is scheduled for the 18th of March and will adopt an online format, through registration for the session until the 16th of March to the email address lldorsch@ualg.pt.<\/p>\n<p>Portugal is currently part of the iHERITAGE project, aiming to promote and enhance the Mediterranean UNESCO cultural heritage through innovative experiences by creating cross-border living labs for research and innovation. Represented by the University of Algarve, the focus of the Portuguese team is to promote the Mediterranean Diet and its importance for the cultural identity of the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n<p>iHERITAGE: ICT Mediterranean platform for UNESCO cultural heritage is a strategic project 90% co-financed by the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme of the European Union. The total budget of the project is \u20ac 3.874.287,06.
