On the 14th of April, the presentation of the virtual tour of the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo in Tavira will take place, as part of the iHERITAGE project. This face-to-face session will be in Portuguese and will start at 5 pm at the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the presentation is to present the development of research on cultural heritage, that is, the practices, representations and knowledge, as well as the instruments, artifacts and cultural spaces associated with these, and connect them to innovative solutions that promote the sustainability of tourism. and the introduction of new technologies. Throughout the presentation we will have the intervention of the research team and the Local Parish Priest, Father Miguel Neto.<\/p>\n

In this way, the initiative intends to provide both the local community and the flow of tourists with one of the aspects of the region’s distinct and unique cultural experience, transmitted from generation to generation, in response to the environment, the interaction with nature, the power gastronomy, the history of the landscape and the sense of identity and continuity in the Algarve.<\/p>\n

Participation in this training session is free and open to the community, but requires mandatory registration due to limited space for the presentation, so it must be held by April 12th, through this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Represented by the University of Algarve, the focus of the Portuguese team is to promote the Mediterranean Diet and its importance for the cultural identity of the Mediterranean.
